[OSEN=박현민 기자] YG Entertainment (“YG”) kicks off another fierce survival. After giving birth to group BIGBANG and WINNER through survival audition, YG now launches “MIX & MATCH” show, for selection of the members of YG’s new boy group iKON.
Most of the cast of “MIX & MATCH” to be aired for the first time on September 11 look familiar. That is because B.I, BOBBY, KIM JINHWAN, SONG YUNHYEONG, KIM DONGHYUK, and KOO JUNHOE, the members of Team B who failed to be the winner of “WIN: WHO IS NEXT” (“WIN”) show last year that gave birth to WINNER, are giving their second shot for survival in “MIX & MATCH”.
Those six familiar Team B members and three “new face” YG trainees including JUNG JINHYEONG, JUNG CHANWOO, and YANG HONGSEOK will compete in “MIX & MATCH”. As B.I, BOBBY, and KIM JINHWAN have already confirmed their debut, six of the nine – SONG YUNHYEONG, KIM DONGHYUK, KOO JUNHOE, JUNG JINHYEONG, JUNG CHANWOO, and YANG HONGSEOK – will actually compete to be the members of iKON. Only four of them will be selected to form iKON, along with the three whose debut has already been confirmed.
Debut of iKON to be born in “MIX & MATCH” is scheduled for early next year.
Meanwhile, the first episode of “MIX & MATCH” is aired on September 11 at 11pm on Mnet, in the time slot of rapper survival “Show Me The Money” that ended last week.
