[NEWS] YG Unveils First Confirmed Member of iKON Today at 0AM

[OSEN=김사라 기자] The first confirmed member of survival audition show ‘’MIX & MATCH’’ for selection of YG Entertainment’s new boy group iKON will be unveiled on the 4 at 0am.

YG posted an announcement that the viewers’ vote finished, on the 1 at 0am. Except for B.I, BOBBY, and KIM JINHWAN whose debut was already confirmed, four confirmed members out of six contestants: KOO JUNHOE, SONG YUNHYEONG, KIM DONGHYUK, JUNG JINHYEONG, JUNG CHANWOO, and YANG HONGSEOK, will be announced one by one at 0am on the 4, 5, and 6. Then, the final member will be announced in the last episode of ‘’MIX & MATCH’’ on the 6.

Out of KOO JUNHOE, SONG YUNHYEONG, and KIM DONGHYUK who drew fans’ attention by showing their talent and skills in ‘’WIN: WHO’s NEXT’’ as Team B, and three new trainees: JUNG JINHYEONG, JUNG CHANWOO, and YANG HONGSEOK, who joined YG by winning fierce global audition of one to tens of thousands, only 4 will be selected as the member of iKON, to form a team with B.I, BOBBY, and KIM JINHWAN.

They have competed in global fan meeting and vote held in China, Japan, and Korea, in text message vote, Facebook online vote, and LINE mobile vote held from October 30 at 11pm to October 31 at 12 in the night.

The seven to be iKON will follow the footsteps of YG’s boy group and will demonstrate their talent and character as a guest performer on the opening stage of BIGBANG’s Japan five dome tour that will begin on the 15 and 16 at Nagoya.

In episode 8 of ‘’MIX & MATCH’’ aired last week, YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK expressed his confidence in the success of iKON, saying, ‘’Since they have developed significant potential and skills through several survival auditions, they will be the best group in Asia. I’ll spare no support for them, too’’.

Meanwhile, the nine contestants of ‘’MIX & MATCH’’ have been competing for the past 180 days, by “mixing” and “matching” each one’s talent, appeal, and character to the best. Fans are paying keen attention to how they will end the long journey.

“MIX & MATCH” is aired on cable channel Mnet and search engine NAVER’s TV CAST, and the replay service is available on NAVER TV CAST and YG’s official blog.
